Septoplasty - surgery of nasal septum

Inequality, deformity of unevenness of nasal septum is found at a larger part of population. It is usually caused by an injury or it could be congenital. In most cases crooked septum causes worse passage of breathing through the nose, especially when sleeping or doing sports. It could be the cause of chronic cold, paranasal and other sinus illnesses.

In our Laser Treatment Centre, we do the plastic adjustment of nasal septum shape - septoplasty. This surgical procedure is done in a total, mild anesthetic. Its goal is to change the shape and position of the nasal septum. The operation is done within the sinuses and it does not leave any visible scars. The surgery is concluded by a nasal tamponade. Post-surgical stage requires 12 to 24 hour hospitalization after which the tamponade is removed and the patient leaves for home. The convalescence is individual ranging from one to two weeks. The result shows within cca three weeks from the surgery being good air passage through the nose meaning sound sleep and ability to do active sports.
